Lanxess supports Ratang Bana

ALEXANDRA - Employees from chemicals company Lanxess took time off to visit Ratang Bana, a non profit organisation which aims to empower vulnerable children.

In honour of Mandela Day celebrations, employees from chemicals company Lanxess took time off to visit Ratang Bana, a non-profit organisation which aims to empower vulnerable children.

Lanxess employees aimed to embody Mandela’s spirit of selfless giving during their visit.

Ratang Bana supports and empowers vulnerable children, specifically focusing on orphaned children and ones affected and infected by HIV/Aids. The centre also gives the community of Alexandra a chance to provide food parcels to needy families and children.

“We believe that by investing to empower our surrounding communities, we not only play a meaningful role, but we also do the right thing, in line with the company’s concept of corporate citizenship. We assume responsibility and ensure that our surrounding community also benefits from our success,” said Ben Marais, managing director of Lanxess South Africa.

A visibly overwhelmed Bongane Radebe from Ratang Bana said, “I am very grateful for this day. It always gives me pleasure when organisations such as Lanxess are willing to invest in places such as Ratang Bana.”
