Moving for Madiba

JOBURG - Adventure enthusiast, Brett Palframan, has set out on a mission to do more than 67 Minutes for Mandela Day on 18 July.

Palframan, also a bodybuilder and cyclist, wants to put together a team to participate with him in this year’s 947 Cycle Challenge on 15 November. The former Mr SA semifinalist has set his sites on being the cover man of Men’s Health magazine and hopes to use his status to promote his Mandela Day campaign.

His team will be cycling in support of Ribbons for Roses, a Facebook campaign which raises funds for prosthetics for an amputee.

He is also rallying behind a Midrand community initiative which aims to collect R67 donations for the Midrand SPCA.

“Ever since competing in MR SA, these charities have been close to my heart,” said Palframan, who believes that adventure sport has the ability to change lives.

“Just look at the millions of rand that the 947 [Cycle Challenge] raises for charity. Right there, you can see the difference that adventure sports can make.”
