Bizarre mother and son situation

ALEXANDRA - Alex man is in police custody pending court appearance for theft from his mother in a bizarre manner.

An Alex man is in police custody pending his court appearance for theft from his mother under bizarre circumstances.

Alex police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Manare Ramotshela, said the 67-year-old mother, who resides on 18th Avenue, reported that she was sleeping in her room when she was woken by the noise of the chain which secures a lock on the burglar door into her room.

The woman, still on her bed, realized that she was naked and saw that her panties were next to her feet. Ramotshela said the woman got up and peeped through the door and saw her eldest son, whose age and residence were not provided, standing outside next to the door.

When she asked him what was going on, he reportedly retorted, ‘do you think I raped you?’

Ramotshela said the woman also looked around for her documents and found her pension and bank cards missing. A phone alert informed her that R1 250 had been withdrawn from her bank account.

The woman, who suspected her son for the withdrawal, reported the incident to the police, leading to his arrest. She alleged that it wasn’t the first time he had stolen from her. Police said the woman didn’t press a rape charge.
