Man awaits judgement for assaulting neighbour

ALEXANDRA - Alex man appeared at the Alex Magistrate Court for a case of grievous bodily harm committed on a neighbour.

An Alex man recently appeared at the Alex Magistrates’ Court on a charge of grievous bodily harm committed on a neighbour.

The case was postponed to a later date for judgement after further investigations needed to be concluded.

Alexandra police spokesperson Warrant Officer Manare Ramotshela said on 6 June, the accused who stays on 7th Avenue in the same complex as his victim, allegedly drove to the entrance gate of the flats and found them locked. At the time, the victim was allegedly at his car in the parking area. The victim opened the gate and when the man had driven in, he allegedly accused the victim of locking him outside. He allegedly assaulted the victim with a knobkerrie, hitting him on the left shoulder and right ribs. The victim sustained injuries.

The matter was reported to Alex police who arrested the man.
