Rolex gang member allegedly shot dead in drive-by shooting in Marlboro

MARLBORO - ONE of the original members of the Alexandra Rolex gang was allegedly shot dead in Marlboro on 6 June.

This according to Mandla Mahlangu [not his real name], who said he lived on the same street as the deceased, Moses Maleka. “He was my friend and we grew up together on the same street in Alex,” said Mahlangu.

“He was shot in a drive-by outside of Club Neh in Marlboro. Someone called him to come outside of the club and that’s when he was shot.”

Mahlangu said Maleka had just been released from prison when the incident occurred. He was apparently no longer living in Alexandra but lived in Norkem Park on the Eastrand.

“I’m not sure where the funeral will take place, it might be in Alex or in Kempton Park,” said Mahlangu.

Provincial spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said he can only follow up once a case number is presented to him.

“Currently there is no case with the Alexandra police or the Bramley police,” added Dlamini.

This is a developing story and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
