Fugitive shooter apprehended

ALEXANDRA - A man who has been at large for a month for a case of attempted murder has been apprehended and is due to appear in court soon.

 

Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Manare Ramotshela said the man who was reported in Man and Boy are shot of Alex News week ending 17 April was arrested in Alex for shooting and injuring a 52-year-old man and a seven-year-old boy after an argument.

This happened early April as they [man and boy] were alighting stairs at Victoria Court Flats on 8th Avenue.

Ramotshela said the man shot the two after the victim admonished him not to make noise in the complex. This angered him [arrested man] resulting in an altercation with the man followed by him drawing a gun and firing at the two as they alighted the stairs after the altercation had ended. The man was injured on the right arm and right leg and the boy on the right leg. The incident happened despite other residents also warning the man of potentially injuring many children who were milling around.
