Man gets 20 years for robbery and hijacking

ALEXANDRA - A man has been sentenced to 20 years in jail for robbery with aggravated circumstances.

A man has recently been sentenced to 20 years in jail for robbery with aggravated circumstances.

Martin Mokgabudi (43) was sentenced by the Alex Magistrates’ Court for hijacking, at gun point, a white Isuzu bakkie belonging to William Skhosana of Grassfontein, Pretoria.

The court heard that Mokgabudi and an accomplice hijacked the vehicle from Skhosana last August at the corner of old Pretoria and Awckright roads, Wynberg. One of them is said to have pointed a gun at the victim before stealing the car worth R200 000, his cellphone and other items all of which have not been recovered yet.

The accomplice is still at large.
