McDonald’s Breakfast Day a success

JOBURG - McDonald's restaurants across South Africa celebrated National Breakfast Day by giving the first 1000 customers at each of their branches, a hearty egg McMuffin breakfast.

National Breakfast Day is a cause close to the heart of McDonald’s and it was for the need for more people to consume a healthy, hearty breakfast each day, that they gave away 1 000 egg McMuffins at each branch on 9 March.

McDonald’s senior marketing director, Daniel Padiachy said, “Customers flocked to McDonald’s restaurants nationwide to grab their delicious free egg McMuffins! This resulted in most of our restaurants completing the 1000th giveaway by 9am.”

“The National Breakfast Day campaign was certainly a success! Crew excitement was at an all-time high and customers were very happy to receive a free breakfast to kick-start their day.”

Breakfast, being the most important meal of the day, can be considered a ’cause’ to McDonald’s as they aim to continue encouraging people to eat breakfast everyday.

“McDonald’s South Africa continues to believe in the importance of breakfast and will certainly consider bringing back National Breakfast Day next year.”

The day can be marked as a great success for McDonald’s, and can also be considered a success for all the lucky customers who were able to get a good meal in at the beginning of the day.
