Toys for Alex children

ALEXANDRA - The Spur Foundation has donated toys to the Pure Day Care in Alexandra as part of its annual toy drive for underprivileged children.

The Spur Foundation has donated toys to Pure Day Care centre in Alexandra as part of its annual toy drive for underprivileged children.

The collection of toys was handed over to the centre by Spur staff members. Ipeleng Mohlala, projects manager at Asha Trust emphasised the importance of donor partnerships to enhance early childhood development services in deprived communities.

“It is encouraging to work with donors who see the value of our work with home-based crèches around Gauteng. Spur Foundation made this a special day for the children by providing educational toys and food packs.”

In addition, Spur Foundation’s contribution to Asha Trust’s Early Childhood Development programme also benefits practitioners at 10 crèches in Alexandra by ensuring that preschool children have access to quality development in their communities.

Ronel Van Dijk, chairperson of the Spur Foundation, said supporting the Asha Trust was an ideal way for the foundation to achieve its aims of uplifting and improving the lives of South African families and children.

“The Spur Foundation is committed to playing its part, and supporting the nationwide beneficiaries of our toy drive is just one of the ways we are fulfilling our core values of generosity and ubuntu,” said Van Dijk.
