Aunt searches for suspected thieving niece

ALEXANDRA - An Alex woman appeals to the public to help track the whereabouts of her niece who disappeared from home March last year.

An Alex woman is appealing to the public to help track the whereabouts of her niece who disappeared from home in March last year.

Sibongile Makhubu said the niece, Lihle Nkosi disappeared from their 8th Avenue home and is rumoured to be staying with a boyfriend in Tsutsumani. Makhubu added that her clothes, pressing iron, bedding and kettle were taken at the same time of her niece’s disappearance.

“I have called several times from last year to find out about her whereabouts, but every time she cuts off the phone when realising its my calls,” said Makhubu. “I reported the matter to the police who also called, and to who she confirmed having taken the clothes, but she cuts the phone when they asked for her residential address.”

Makhubu said Nkosi’s friends claimed to have seen her at PanAfrica Mall, but she disappeared when she realised she had been sighted. She further alleges that Nkosi once used her bank card in 2013 to withdrew R1 000 from her bank account without her permission. “ I forgave her then not knowing that she would later disappear with my property.”

Makhubu appealed to anyone who knows Nkosi’s whereabouts to inform her or the police. A call to Nkosi by this reporter was unsuccessful.
