ALEXANDRA - The Joburg City Council is asking residents to get involved in the review of its 2015/16 policy on rates and taxes.

The Joburg City Council is asking residents to get involved in the review of its 2015/16 policy on rates and taxes.

Joburg City asks all stakeholders including businesses and other parties with vested interests in the operation and management of the city to participate in the exercise which is conducted annually to determine the tariffs to be levied according to categories of properties.

It says that suggestions and recommendations of the process are important before the policy is implemented in terms of the Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004.

Public meetings will be held in all regions with the following in region E;

Malboro Recreation Centre, Marlboro on 18 February from 6pm to 8pm

Altreck Hall, Eastbank on 25 February from 6pm to 8pm

Ernest Ullman Park Recreational Centre, Gallo Manor, Sandton on 23 February from 6pm to 8pm
