ALEXANDRA - Two balaclava clad men took turns to rape a 15-year-old girl at the Eastbank Cemetery off the notorious Jukskei Park.

Two balaclava-clad men took turns to rape a 15-year-old girl in the Eastbank Cemetery near the notorious Jukskei Park.

According to Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the victim was walking along 20th Avenue close to the cemetery with her friend and her friend’s brother at 9pm when they were approached by the two men.

The men produced a firearm and ordered the three to come with them to a secluded area of the cemetery. They told the brother to lie face down on the ground. They demanded that the 15-year-old undress and when she refused they threatened to shoot her. They then took turns in raping her.

After the incident, the two men are said to have fled the scene. The other girl was not raped and no shots were fired, the police said. The cemetery is a stone’s throw away from the notorious Jukskei Park that police have warned residents to stay away from at night.
