Pupils heap praise on teachers

ALEXANDRA - Four of the 2014 top ten matriculants from Eastbank High School accredited their teachers, school management and parents for passing their matric examinations.

Four of the top-10 matriculants of Eastbank High School accredited their teachers, school management and parents for their good results.

The pupils Fannie Nkoane, Thobile Moloisi, Ntombifuthi Kunene, Zethu Dube and Nthabiseng Thage thanked deputy principal Josephine Mokgoathleng and principal and Isaac Tholoe for creating a positive and consultative learning atmosphere at the school.

The pupils were in agreement that despite the school coming third in overall performance among the five local secondary schools, it was destined for the top this year. This despite the large class sizes and limited resources, but the teachers are good motivators and avail themselves after school, on weekends and holidays.

The four are waiting confirmation of their studies at tertiary institutions. Nkoane wants to do accounting at Wits or Rhodes and Moloisi is aiming for law at the University of Pretoria or Johannesburg. Kunene who loves nature, especially animals, would like to study zoology through Unisa, while Dube is aiming to study teaching at Rhodes University.

Thage who dedicated her matric results to her recently-deceased mother, is aspiring to study banking and investment at Milpark College. “I want to learn more about the intriguing aspects of money management,” she said.
