An Alex suspect (pictured) wanted in connection with the alleged stabbing to death of his close friend has been nabbed by the police.
According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, Thabo Generous of 9th Avenue in Alexandra was arrested at his uncle’s house in Naledi, Soweto on 18 December following the publication of an article on the Alex News webiste, which was also posted on other social media sites.
Generous allegedly stabbed his 33-year-old friend to death on 1 November last year and fled the scene. Alex police had approached Alex News seeking the assistance of readers in tracking down the 29-year-old suspect.
The victim is said to have been stabbed at his place of residence. He was rushed to the Alexandra Clinic where he later died from his injuries. Maphakela has commended the public for information which eventually led to the arrest of Generous.
The suspect has since appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for murder.
