Johannesburg frustrated as black outs continue

JOBURG - Johannesburg residents were plunged into darkness once again this morning.

Another power outage has plagued both northern and southern suburbs, Eskom notes that the outage is not a part of the nationwide load shedding schedule, but was caused by a technical fault in one of the transformers at the Prospect Substation.

City Power reports the incident to have occurred at 6.30 this morning and have asserted that technicians are currently working to fix the problem.

Director of engineering operations at City Power, Lousie Pieterse could not confirm when electricity supply will be restored but stated that the outage can be expected to last past 10am.

Suburbs affected in the Rosebank Killarney distribution area include Abbotsford, Birdhaven, Illovo, Killarney Melrose and Rosebank,
