Police have arrested a man who allegedly grabbed his friend’s money from his hands and threatened to stab him when the friend demanded it back.
The suspect will appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of common robbery. The victim said he was at Maswanganye Tavern when he walked out of the tavern holding R650 in his hands.
As he walked out of the door, he met a man well-known to him (name given), who then grabbed the money from the victim’s hands. The victim then demanded his money back but the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife from his pocket and threatened to stab him.
Branding a knife in the face of the victim, the suspect is alleged to have said, “I will show you what I am made of”. The victim left the suspect and went straight to the police station and opened a case.
