Get ready for Bandana Day

JOBURG - As South Africa gears up for National Bandana Day on 12 October the Sunflower Fund encourages all citizens to buy a bandana from their nearest Pick n Pay.

The Sunflower Fund is a non-profit organisation established in 1999 to raise funds for people suffering from leukaemia and other blood disorders. The fund attempts to raise awareness among the public regarding blood disorders.

“By purchasing a bandana for R25 you could make a difference and offer those fighting leukaemia and other life threatening blood disorders a chance of a future,” said Tarryn Corlett, chief operating officer for The Sunflower Fund.

Funds raised through National Bandana Day go towards paying for the expensive DNA tests for new donors to be able to join the South African Bone Marrow Registry for patients who require bone marrow transplants.

“Please support this campaign and help make a difference as together, we can save more lives and we cannot do this without your support,” said Corlett.
