Aspiring Alex business women attended a workshop designed to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills.

More than 120 women, half of them from Alex and the others from Thembisa, gathered for the Women’s Day event alongside Deputy Minister for Small Business Management, Elizabeth Thabethe.

The seminar series, organised by musician, actress, TV presenter and businesswoman, Ntombee Mzolo, and her psychologist business partner Tam de Vries, are designed to address the challenges faced by aspiring businesswomen and those in business already.

Mzolo and De Vries are founders of Women of Essence 360 or better known as WE3sixty and have partnered with OpenView HD to host the seminars.

Addressing the seminar, OpenView HD marketing manager Shalamar Zandamela urged aspiring businesswomen to leave the kitchen and go out there to provide for their families and be competitive.

Thabethe urged the women to access the government incentives available to them within her department and that of Trade and Industry, which she said were designed to set them on the road to business success.
