Alex man robbed of his bag with valuables

An Alex resident was robbed of his bag full of valuables in Wanderers Street in the Johannesburg CBD.

The victim said he had just placed the bag on the ground as he was answering his phone. The suspect came and grabbed the bag and fled.

Inside the bag, the victim said there were two cellphones, plastic food containers, an ID book, two pairs of shoes, a cellphone charger and trousers, all to the value of R1 600.

Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said no arrests have been made so far in the case of common robbery that was opened. He added that the case would be transferred to the Johannesburg Central Police Station for investigation.
