Councillors to hold election meetings

ALEXANDRA - Ward 75 and 116 councillors Chris Mabunda and Monde Mbingeleli are inviting members of the community to their respective Ward Committee supplementary elections to be held on 16 August.

Ward 75 and 116 councillors, Chris Mabunda and Monde Mbingeleli, are inviting members of the community to their respective ward committee supplementary elections to be held on 16 August.

Mabunda’s electoral meeting will be held at the Montessori Creche at the corner of Josias Madzunya Street and 12th Avenue, while Mbingeleli’s will be held at the Phuthaditjaba Centre on 17th Avenue.

Community members participating in the elections need to be registered voters in their respective wards and of South African nationality, aged 18 and above. They must bring their barcoded South African identity documents on the day.

Both meetings will run from 10am to 2pm and will relate to the election of members to the portfolios of transport, health and social development, which covers faith-based organisations, community-based bodies and NGOs.

Mbingeleli’s electoral meeting will also include sectors of development planning, housing, health, and social development 1, which focuses on youth, women, children and people with disabilities, along with community development 2, which oversees recreation, parks and the Johannesburg Zoo.
