Three bag snatchers made off with valuables of an Alex student of the University of Johannesburg while in Hillbrow on her way to varsity.
The 23-year-old student of 14th Avenue, Alexandra said she was walking at the corner of Wolmarans and Claim streets in Hillbrow after alighting from a taxi to connect to a varsity bus when she came across the three men.
One of the men snatched her navy blue bag and all three of them bolted. She screamed as the men disappeared around the corner. Inside her bag was a laptop, her purse with R250 in cash, banks cards and textbooks all to the value of R6 000. The complainant laid a charge later at the Alexandra Police Station.
Alex police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said no arrests have been in this case of common robbery but that police were still investigating.
