Bust up couple in biting incident

ALEXANDRA - A man and his ex-girlfriend were embroiled in a fight which ended up with the couple biting each other.

A man and his ex-girlfriend were embroiled in a fight which ended up with the couple biting each other.

The man was arrested by Alexandra police for allegedly beating up his girlfriend which then led the couple to bite each other.

According to Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the man arrived at his former girlfriend’s house to collect all his items, which included a fridge, wardrobe, cupboard, stove, plates, groceries and clothes.

As the man collected his belongings, he accidentally collected the room keys but later brought them back. As he handed the woman the keys, an argument ensued and the man is said to have hit her in the stomach and also pulled her hair.

As he was allegedly pulling her hair, the woman decided to bite his hand in an attempt to free herself. It is claimed the man in turn bit her on the head. He allegedly continued to beat her while they also bit each other.

During the fight, the man is said to have broken a TV set, a decoder and the door to a room. When they finally separated, the woman ran out and reported the incident to the police who then arrested the man. He has since appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on a charge of common assault.
