In the spirit of celebrating Youth Day, pupils at Alexandra’s Carter Primary School will be treated to a sumptuous lunch on 13 June.

After normal school lessons, learners will participate in cultural activities, games and lessons to celebrate the continent, and will be treated to lunch in an event sponsored by food brand Knorr.

“Knorr Tasty Seasoning Powder is a seasoning that promises to turn ordinary pap – a staple in many parts of Africa – into something special, something extraordinary using one tablespoon,” said brand manager Sduduzo Dlamini.

Parents are also invited to attend the event as they play an important part in their children’s education. “A significant part of our Knorr Tasty Seasoning Powder campaign is promoting parental involvement in their children’s school life and activities,” Dlamini said.

“We invite parents to join us for lunch with the children and for some games. In this way we hope to build cohesion between teachers, learners and parents, ultimately building the community.”
