The City of Zion church will be hosting its annual Winter Giveaway on 21 June 2014.
According to one of the organisers Mwelwa Balemo the Winter Giveaway will be distributing food, clothing, blankets and stationery to the less privileged.
There will also be a soup kitchen to feed the hungry as well, said Balemo, who added that the church was hoping to serve up to 200 people on a first-come, first-serve basis. Doors will open at 8am and only close when the shelves are empty.
“Everyone is invited. This is open to all and it is free of charge. We would like to sensitise the Alex and Sandton communities about this important event,” Balemo added.
The event will be held at the Cedar Park Hotel and Conference Centre, 120 Western Road, Woodmead in Sandton.
