Woman helps out neighbour, then robbed

ALEXANDRA - A woman who spent a night with the police had her house broken into and items stolen.

A woman, who spent the night at a police station, had her house broken into and items stolen.

The 22-year-old said she left her boyfriend at her house at about 10pm to accompany a neighbour to the police station. They then spent the night there and only came back the following morning at about 6am.

When she returned the following day with the neighbour, they found her door open and the handle to her door broken. Inside the house she discovered that her bed, TV, a Blackberry smartphone and some clothes were missing.

She then went back to the police station to report a case of housebreaking and theft. She told the police she suspected her boyfriend, whom she had left inside the house. Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said they were still looking for the boyfriend to question him on the matter.
