Police in Alexandra are looking for a suspect [or suspects] who broke into a house in 19th Avenue and stole money, shoes and an identity document.
A homeowner said he left his house at about 7pm to visit some friends and locked all the doors and closed all the windows. When he returned home at about 2am he found his door open and his padlock missing.
Inside the house, he said R900 cash was missing, four pairs of shoes to the value of R3 000 were also missing, and his ID book could not be found. He then went to the police to open a case of housebreaking and theft.
Spokesperson for the Alex police Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the suspect(s) were not known at this stage and the police were still investigating.
