ORT SA has donated laptops to teachers from 12 primary schools in Alexandra.

According to Mpho Matlala, manager for ORT SA’s teachers’ empowerment division, the organisation aims to change education in South Africa.

The laptops are loaded with teaching aids for the benefit of the teachers and their pupils.

Facilitator Julius Oludodun said technology must be used to drive learning in the classroom. Olubodun added that schools with laptops and access to the Internet have a greater advantage to those without.

“The playing fields are levelled and with your skills and the loaded software, the computers must be used to their fullest capacity, for the good of the pupils,” he said, when addressing the teachers.
