Naked man bursts into copshop

ALEXANDRA - police in Alex were startled when a naked man burst into the station just before midnight.

The 23-year-old man from Eastbank in Alexandra had escaped a beating and stabbing from his neighbours who broke into his house to “remind him about his debt and to collect their dues”. The four yard mates have since been arrested and will appear in the Alexandra Magistrates Court soon to face charges of common assault.

The victim said he had been sleeping and was woken at 9pm by á noise at his door, and upon checking found it was open and four men burst into the house. One was armed with a knife and they started beating him with their fists and stabbed him his head.

He recognised them as his yard mates and asked them why they were beating him. They said they had come to “remind” him that he owed them. They then ransacked his house and took R1 800 that was on top of the cupboard.

They then dragged him outside naked and continued the beating. He managed to escape and ran to the police station to lay a charge.
