Another celeb in Sandton?

JOBURG- Forget the usual run-of-the-mill joggers trotting down the street – Hollywood A-listers are taking over.

And move over Brad and Angie, their shacking up in Sandton is old hat with another young heartthrob stealing the spotlight this morning on social media.

Chris Hemsworth was allegedly spotted jogging on Rivonia Road, and with his dashing looks, megawatt smile and deep blue eyes, it is understandable that this kind of buzz would follow if he was to visit South Africa.

But whether he really is in South Africa is up for debate.

Hemsworth, unlike many of his Hollywood peers, doesn’t have a Twitter account, which keeps the voyeurs out.

The last official photo we could find of the hunk was taken on 5 February in Los Angeles, which makes a strong case that a Hemsworth look-alike was spotted running around town.

But before eager fans stop hyperventilating and put the paper bags away, his latest flick Marvel’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron will be shot in gritty Hillbrow.

Jared Orlin, in an article for Yahoo South Africa, revealed that, thanks to the Gauteng Film Commission’s recommendations and tax-breaks, Marvel Studios had chosen Joburg for filming action sequences.

Whether any of the actors set to star in Age Of Ultron are visiting is unconfirmed, and according to Orlin, unlikely.

“We’re being told that no cast will be in town. Instead, it’ll just be key production and possibly director Josh Whedon, the man behind both films and creator of TV hits like Angel and Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. It makes sense, as we’re not the only country that Whedon and his team will film in: America and the UK are also on the list of filming sites.”

But for now, keep the paper bag handy, because you never know which heartthrob might be in town and take your breath away.
