Artists encouraged to submit their work

The Alexandra ICT Centre is calling on all artists to showcase their talent.

The centre, which was established in 2012, aims to promote and give exposure to township artists. This will be done through a visual arts exhibition on 28 February. Speaking about the exhibition the organisation’s director Vika Mjoka said, “We want to develop visual arts in townships and we will start here in Alex. We have noticed that local artists don’t have the exposure and the guidance they need.”

He encouraged local painters, sculptors and craftsmen to submit their work which will be showcased to artist lovers. “Anyone from any age is welcome as long as they have quality work which can be sold,” he said.

Mjoka said artists should submit their work before 15 February.
