JOBURG - Norwood police have launched a man hunt for four suspects suspect who allegedly robbed a man off valuables worth millions.

Norwood police have launched a manhunt for four suspects who allegedly robbed a man of valuables worth millions.

According to police the complainant was leaving the premises of his company on 6th Street in Orange Grove. Police spokesperson Constable Nonzwakazi Tsoanyane said, “His vehicle was parked on the street just outside the business premises and as he approached his vehicle a man armed with a firearm walked towards him.”

The armed suspect allegedly pointed his firearm at the complainant and ordered him to open the boot of the vehicle and hand over the keys. Tsoanyane said, “While the complainant was opening the boot, a gold Audi with three occupants arrived at the scene and one of the occupants had an AK47 which he pointed at the complainant.”

Tsoanyane said the complainant managed to flee the scene and made his way back onto the premises, “The boot was already opened, the suspects searched the vehicle and took R7 000 cash, keys and various jewellery items valued at around R5 million among other items,” she said.

The four suspects allegedly fled the scene with the valuables in their gold Audi vehicle. Tsoanyane appealed to community members who may have information that could lead to an arrest to come forward.
