Kris Kristofferson to perform in Joburg

JOBURG - Legendary American country singer Kris Kristofferson is coming to South Africa next year.

The legendary singer, Kris Kristofferson, will be in Johannesburg in March next year to perform his timeless classics before South African audiences.

Hilltop Live and Kyknet will be bringing the American performer to Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on 22 March and to the Grand Arena, GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, Cape Town on 26 March.

Kristofferson is a country musician who ranks among the most versatile of US artists. He has been a Golden Gloves boxer, a Rhodes scholar, a college football player, an acclaimed actor, a military officer, a helicopter pilot, a Grammy winner, and, until March 2014, a South African tour virgin.

Kristofferson (77) has acted in 119 films and TV shows and has released 28 albums including his most recent album Feeling Mortal.

This release follows 2009’s Closer To The Bone and 2006’s This Old Road.

Kristofferson left a promising military career in favour of, what he calls, a ‘songwriting bum’.
