Proteas suited up by international company

JOBURG - Three leading brands join forces in marriage designed for the betterment of each other's brands.

A leading British clothing manufacturer, TM Lewin is now providing formal wear to South Africa’s national cricket team, the Proteas.

This was announced by Cricket South Africa CEO Haroon Lorgat who said Cricket South Africa was proud to be associated with the leading international clothing company.

“I hope your success and reputation over many years as a leading international brand will be able to rub off on the Proteas as well, and ensure that they maintain their status as the number one test nation for a very long time to come,” he said.

The contract is valid for three years, leading up to the Cricket World Cup in 2015, with an option to renew. TM Lewin has partnered with Edgars and established an in-store store.

“To ensure that we grow our brand in South Africa, we have decided to partner again with another leading brand, the Proteas, so that they can help us take our brand to the next level,” said British-based CEO of TM Lewin, Geoff Quinn who flew into the country for the occasion.

Edcon general manager for brands, Sally-Anne Jackson said they were delighted – not just about having brought a top brand to their stable, but having roped in yet another leading brand in the Proteas. “We hope this marriage can last for as long as possible,” she said.
