Seussical Jr is back

JOBURG - The show, Seussical Jr., is back at National Children’s Theatre, 3 Junction Avenue, Parktown.

The Cat in the Hat is back! Dim the lights, the show Seussical Jr. is about to begin at National Children’s Theatre, 3 Junction Avenue, Parktown from 4 November until 22 December.

Come and meet the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz and Mayzie La Bird, as the tales of Dr. Seuss leap off the stage in a burst of colour, style, song and movement. A portion of a grant of R3 million from the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund made the production possible.

The story centres around Horton the elephant as he finds himself having to protect his tiny friend, JoJo the Who and all the other Whos of Whoville, along with the task of caring for an abandoned egg left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie LaBird while she takes a holiday. Hunters capture Horton and the egg and take them to the travelling circus.

Will Horton be able to take care of Mayzie’s egg? Will he find the Whos? This delightful musical combines many favourite Dr. Seuss stories and reminds audiences of the power of friendship, loyalty, family and community.

The energetic and multi-talented ensemble of professional actors is set to keep children and adults enthralled.
