Home gets funding and a playground

ALEXANDRA - A home gets funding from the President's Emergency plan for AIDS Relief and a playground from Kid Links.

Ratang Bana, a home for orphans and HIV infected children, will soon receive funding from The President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief.

This follows a visit to the home in March by Dr Ruben Brigety II, who is the US deputy assistant secretary of the State in the Bureau of African Affairs, following the home’s application for possible funding.

Ingrid Moloi, founder of Ratang Bana said they were in line to receive R120 000 from the Aids relief fund, which they would use to build a vegetable tunnel, buy office equipment and get uniforms for the workers.

Another American-based NGO, Kid Links World has donated funds to Ratang Bana for the erection of a playground. The handover of the playground will be on 31 August at the home.
