Tsutsumani painting jobs for Ward 105 youth

ALEXANDRA - Colour Me Alex, a youth run community project, will soon roll out its painting project which will see the Tsutsumani flats, next to the Engen garage, refurbished with a splash of colour.

Project director for Colour Me Alex Jacob Setshedi said the painting project will open job opportunities for the youth in Ward 105, who are required to register themselves with Colour Me Alex at their offices at Sankopano, office F7 first floor.

“This is your project and the youth of Ward 105 should come forward to give their flats a splash of colour in marking the 15th year of existence,” Setshedi said.

The flats were built in 1999, soon after the dawn of democracy when South Africa won the right to host the All Africa Games.

The flats were used as the sporting village for the numerous sportsmen and women from Africa who participated in those games.

When the games ended, the flats were handed over to the community for rental and have since been run down and need some refurbishing.

“We shall not just paint the flats but will also clean the surroundings as well and prune the trees and clean the parks too.

“All this begins in July and the unemployed youth of this ward should avail itself for job opportunities,” he said.
