WATCH: Bracka is destined for stardom

JOBURG – Talented young rapper hopes his love and passion will carry him through, despite the challenges he faces.

Rising hip-hop sensation Armstrong Shibiti, also known as KayC Bracka by his fans, is determined to succeed.

Bracka is no stranger in the music industry and has performed in many venues sharing the stage with some of the country’s well-known musicians such as Ricky Rick, Black Motion, Okmalumkoolkat, Stillo Magolide, Dream Team, Thebe and Major League.

His music career started off in primary school. “I did not choose music, it chose me. I have been doing music since primary school and in Sunday school at church,” he said.

Based in Alexandra and working in the north-eastern suburbs, the young rapper said juggling his music career and having to make ends meet is a huge challenge. “A career in music is not always guaranteed, so I encourage other musicians to be involved in other things besides music so they can have something to fall back on.”

His song Inaka reached more than 20 000 downloads online and was played on radio stations such as Ukhozi FM, Munghana lonene FM, YFM, UJFM and AlexFM.

With the music industry becoming more and more competitive by the day, Bracka is confident that his unique style and hard work will help him succeed. He recently released his new single All We Want, which has been playing on various radio stations throughout the country.

Bracka’s effortless lyrical flow and catchy chorus will get South Africa singing along to the new single.

The 24-year-old describes himself as a go-getter and someone who does not settle for second best.

“The hip-hop industry is more interesting now and it allows artists to be themselves, and there is enough space for everyone.”

Bracka is influenced by South African contemporary stories and takes his fans on a journey from rural to uptown and from village to urban streets.
