Thursday night 2 October is opening day for The Sheds@1Fox. In the evening we host our first night-time market in the form of the Starfish Greathearts Urban Picnic. This fundraiser-event for the Starfish Greathearts Foundation promises to be an unforgettable night of good food in the most exceptional location. Be the first to experience the astonishing spaces of The Sheds@1Fox and support a good cause at the same time.
How it works: purchase a R100 ticket to gain entrance for the evening (proceeds from the event are donated to the Starfish Greathearts Foundation). Children under 16 enter free of charge. All our stalls will be open for trade, the bars will be ready to serve you and over 500 seats at our market tables will await you. Join us for a leisurely evening of good food and music. Come hungry and purchase gourmet meals from our extensive variety of vendors.
Part of the evening involves the launch of the new Starfish song, ‘Get Together’. The best known version of this song was recorded by Jessie Colin Young and his band ‘The Young Bloods’ when it became a Billboard Number 1 hit in 1969. The song is an appeal for peace and brotherhood, presenting the polarity of love versus fear, and the choice to be made between them. It is a call to action for people to choose to support those who need this support. Specifically, it references the Starfish from the Starfish parable and the Starfish Greathearts Foundation as the key to love and transformation. The Starfish version is being recorded by a collection of South Africa’s finest artists, including ProVerb, Arno Carstens, Josie Fields, Vusi Mahlesela, The Soweto Gospel Choir and Albert Frost. Proceeds from downloads go to the Starfish Greathearts Foundation.
