ALEXANDRA – Man stabbed with a broken bottle on the head and is recovering in hospital.

Alex police officers are investigating a case of alleged assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily which occurred at 6pm on 3 April at a taxi rank in Alex.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the victim gained consciousness at the Alex Clinic after he was allegedly stabbed in the head with a broken bottle by a suspect who accused him of disrespect. The known suspect approached the victim who was carrying items and when he accused him of disrespecting him for unspecified reasons, the victim simply thanked him.

This seemingly infuriated the suspect who then allegedly broke an empty bottle and stabbed the victim who bled, collapsed and was then taken to the clinic where he recovered after treatment.

No arrests have been made as yet.
