Robber and attempted rapist awaits his fate on 11 June in Alex Magistrates’ Court

ALEXANDRA – Robber, attempted rapist back for judgement on 11 June.

A man accused of armed robbery and attempted rape was remanded in custody and will reappear in Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 11 June for a further hearing.

The man allegedly broke into an Alex residence last year with two accomplices who are still at large and allegedly robbed a couple of their TV set and other items including R500 in cash.

When the accomplices left the residence, the accused then told them that he would join them later.

He then allegedly told the woman to undress so that he could rape her, this while forcing the male victim to remain in bed at gunpoint.

The female victim did so slowly which infuriated the suspect who held the gun with his mouth while he forcibly undressed her. The male victim jumped off the bed, allegedly kicked the gun out of the accused’s mouth, broke a light bulb, and tackled and tussled with him.

The female victim screamed for help, attracting neighbours who came and restrained the accused until police arrived on the scene and arrested him.

Two cellphones from the victims were found in his possession.

Due to a tussle with the neighbours and police officers, the accused was treated at a hospital under police guard prior to his court appearance.

Details: 10111.
