Suspect wanted for road rage shooting

ALEXANDRA – Man allegedly involved in road rage incident drives off, returns and shoots victims.

A suspect is wanted by Alex police for allegedly shooting and injuring two men in a road rage incident.

The spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the incident happened on 13th Avenue in Alex at 9.30pm on 11 February.

One of the victims allegedly stopped his vehicle on the road next to his friend’s residence. The man stopped the vehicle and got out to enter the house while his friend stood outside the residence waiting.

The suspect, who was driving a Toyota Avanza, drove passed and hooted, while shouting for the first victim to get his car off the road.

The first victim and suspect got into an argument before the suspect drove off. About 20 minutes later, the suspect returned on foot and allegedly shot the first victim – who by then was sitting with the two friends outside the house, in the chest, back and lower arm.

The second victim – one of the two friends – was allegedly shot in the back as well by the suspect, who then ran away. The victims received treatment at Joburg General Hospital and are now recovering at home.
