Residents called to sector forums elections

ALEXANDRA – Police invite residents to meetings in preparation of elections of sector forums of the Alex CPF.

Alex Police Station is inviting residents to attend preparatory meetings for the member elections of the four sector committee forums of the Alex Community Police Forum (CPF).

This in preparation for the annual general meeting and election of the executive of the forum later in the year.

Sectors cover the following areas:

  • Sector 1 covers the area around Pan Africa Mall
  • Sector 2 covers the area between 1st and 13th avenues and between Florence Mophosho Avenue and Vincent Tshabalala Road
  • Sector 3 covers the area between 13th Avenue and the Jukskei River
  • Sector 4 covers the area between the Jukskei River and the N3 highway.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the CPF has a five-year legislative mandate and will replace its predecessor which was disbanded in December last year before the end of its term, for reasons which could not be specified.

This development comes at a time when the police station is one of the few stations located countrywide which are included in the Presidential Project and at a time when stakeholders are concerned about the high crime levels including murder, rape, motor vehicle hijacking, house, school and business robberies and drug abuse.
