Mr Mo pursues his destiny

JOHANNESBURG – His destiny is not yet fulfilled, but with the release of his first album, a local musician's road to international stardom has been set in motion.

A musician from Vereeniging is officially making waves in the local music industry and is excited to see the response to his very first album.
Mr Mo, born Molefi Madikoe, made his first foray into the often unfriendly entertainment world decades ago at just 10 years old when he sang at his primary school and captivated his schoolmates with his gospel songs and rich vocals.

In high school, the ever-evolving musician continually wrote and recorded songs in his mini studio and performed them to the merriment of his peers.
Mr Mo continued in this fashion while attending the University of Johannesburg where he completed a degree in marketing management. The strategic Mr Mo later joined musical groups such as Currents of Blackness and Urban Legendz in order to gain experience and exposure.

Now sitting on the cusp of becoming an industry insider, the small town musician exudes a vibrant energy whenever his talent as a vocalist, songwriter and dancer are tested and displayed. Now signed with the label, FreezeTheMoment Productions, founded by fellow musician Rabs Vhafuwi, Mr Mo released his album titled Destiny.

As a newcomer, it could be assumed that the writing and recording process was painstaking for the musician, but this fiery artist was not stressed or deterred by the pressures of the industry and rather enjoyed the time he had in the studio.

“The recording process of the album was pretty smooth and not rushed and I knew exactly the types of scenarios I wanted to deliberately tap into in terms of songwriting for the album. The musical chemistry between myself and Rabs made the process even more enjoyable,” Mr Mo explained.

“The album is already available [to the public] and doing well on online music stores [such as] iTunes and Google Play, and will soon be available in Musica stores across the country.”

With 14 songs on the album, the musician delves into a range of emotions and genres as he tells his story. Destiny falls under the house music and dance music genre, but also leans towards the deep house, soul and Afro genres; with some of the songs currently playing internationally in the UK and Netherlands.

Mr Mo strives to make music that will be enjoyed and relevant not only in South Africa but also throughout the world and he is well on his way to dominating the international scene.
