An attempted murder suspect was denied bail and remanded in custody pending further investigations and a hearing on 25 November at the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
He also failed to provide evidence of his citizenship. His two accomplices are still at large and wanted by the police.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 30 October at an informal settlement in Lonehill.
The victim had been sleeping when three suspects barged into his room. Without saying a word, one of them allegedly stabbed the victim repeatedly before he managed to escape. The victim was taken to Tembisa Hospital by friends for treatment. The accused was arrested days later.
