Residents are still talking of state capture saga

Sisa Dube: Yes, they need to be charged and punished accordingly. I am glad that we as a country got to see what these officials are doing behind our back.

Celeste May: Yes, these officials need to be charged for the actions binding them in the State Capture. If they are charged, it will show that our country has order and you will be punished for your actions.

Reabetswe Maforah: Yes, the officials need to face charges as it is wrong to steal from the country. Some of their offences are money related and they need to go down for not putting the interests of the community or country first.

Reagan James: The people who got the jobs shouldn’t necessarily go to jail, but those who gave the jobs away – absolutely. Getting a job should be about qualifications and experience, not about who you are friends with.

Daniel Bokke: I’m not South African, but I’ve noticed that this country is not like it was when I first came here in 2008. It’s changed for the worse [because of scandals such as the State of Capture report] and that means that everyday people are suffering more.

Tyrone Dewitt: Most definitely. There’s been a lot of speculation over how true the report is and that has been going on for years. I believe that [the officials] should have their day in court, and if they are found to be corrupt they should go to jail.
