Woman attacked for ‘taking’ boyfriend

ALEXANDRA – A woman was attacked and her cellphone broken by another woman.

Alex police officers are investigating a case of alleged assault and malicious damage to a female complainant’s property by a known female suspect.

The incident occurred at the victim’s 9th Avenue residence at 3.30pm on 13 October in the presence of the victim’s two friends.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang, said the suspect allegedly entered the victim’s house without knocking on the door and assaulted her after accusing her of taking away her boyfriend. The suspect is said to have then also broken the victim’s cellphone valued at R1 000.

The assault was stopped by a neighbour, after which the suspect left. It wasn’t specified if the suspect was arrested or not.
