DJ Arch Junior to attempt Guinness World Record

ALEXANDRA - World renowned DJ Arch Junior will attempt a Guinness World Record on 1 October.

If all goes according to plan, Alexandra’s world-renowned youngest DJ, Arch Junior, will attempt a Guinness World Record at the McDonald’s U14 Schools League national finals on 1 October at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

The youngest winner of etv reality show, South Africa’s Got Talent, whose real name is Oratile Madumo, will attempt to set the record as the Youngest Club DJ to spin the discs and keep the crowds dancing.

In order for the four-year-old to knock out the current record holder, he will need to keep the crowd dancing for an hour. The current Guinness World Record belongs to six-year-old Canadian, Brandon Duke, who took over the title in June 2013.

Over the past few months, DJ Arch Jnr has been the resident DJ at schools league festivals, which have taken place in Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, Klerksdorp in the North West, Western Cape and in Embalenhle in Mpumalanga.

He has mesmerised the crowds to such an extent that when he takes to the stage, everything football comes to a standstill prompting the organisers to find a different slot for the DJ to perform in order not to disrupt the main attraction, which is football. “The schools league creates a platform that allows children to hone their skills and hopefully inspires them to reach their full potential in life, and we are very excited that DJ Arch Jnr will be attempting to set a Guinness World Record at our national finals,” said Daniel Padiachy, chief marketing officer of McDonald’s South Africa.

Schools competing at the nationals finals from 29 September to 1 October are: Grey College from the Free State, John Dube High School from KwaZulu-Natal, Sibhulo Secondary School from Mpumalanga, Noordeland Hoërskool from Limpopo, Clapham High School from Gauteng, Tswarahanelo Primary School from the North West, Charles Morgan Primary School from the Eastern Cape, Chris Hani Secondary School from the Western Cape and Orion High School from the Northern Cape.

A prediction of Alex News is that if all goes well and they play like they have been doing and be solid at the back, coupled with their attacking prowess, then my money’s on Grey College from the Free State to be crowned champions of the 2016 tournament.
