Easy passage for two-time champs Iphutheng

Iphutheng Primary School boys soccer team had an easy passage into the third round of their Discovery Alex Schools U12 League games when they were awarded a walkover.
The two-time champions were awarded full points without even kicking a ball after their opponents, Gordon Primary School team, pitched up more than an hour late for their second match of the league at the No 3 Square Grounds.
No explanation was given as to why they were late, even though the school recently took delivery of a brand-new school bus which deputy principal Dipuo Swelenkomo said would go a long way in meeting their sporting requirements.

In their opening match against MC Weiler, Gordon was taught a footballing lesson when they were walloped 3–0 by the defending champions of the tournament.
Another walkover was awarded to Emfundisweni after Bovet failed to arrive for the match.
Emfundisweni, who were beaten 2–1 by DH Carter in their opening game, got their first three points at the expense of Bovet and can look forward to their third game with a bit of ease.
DH Carter came in the wrong kit and a walkover was awarded to Zenzeleni with a scoreline of 3–0, as per regulations. This follows Zenzeleni’s 2–2 draw with Skeen in their opening game.
Skeen also collected their first full points against Ekukhanyisweni, courtesy of a brace from the evergreen and hard-working defender cum striker, Phineas Masekwameng who was all over the field after being given a free reign by his coach.
Masekwameng curled a brilliant free-kick close to the corner spot which found the top corner, while his second was a fantastic strike from close range. Ekukhanyisweni had been stunned 1–0 by Bovet in their opening match.
