Alex police are investigating a case of crimen injuria and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm by a group of men.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the incident happened in one of the township streets at about 8pm on 16 July this year.
The victim claimed to have met two known suspects who had insulted him the previous day. The suspects allegedly insulted him again which the victim again did not respond to.

One of the suspects then slapped him and the victim fought back. The second suspect hacked him on the hand with a panga while the other stabbed him in the cheek with a knife.
The victim alleged that a group of other men who had been watching also joined in and started beating him. He managed to escape and went to the Alex clinic for treatment. No one has been arrested.
