Instagram is one of the most popular picture sharing apps in the world and Instameets and Instawalks are becoming a big trend. Every year, Instagram hosts a worldwide Instameet where, for one weekend, the entire world takes part within their local cities. This year’s theme is Life On Earth and participants are asked to highlight the classical elements – water, fire, wind and earth. Gauteng will have four separate Instameets over the weekend so don’t miss one.
The Lonehill Clean-up

Gem is Going the Extra Mile (again) and asking volunteers and community members to band together and clean up the streets of Lonehill. Zoo Hospital Run/Walk

The Johannesburg Zoo, Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkview
The Johannesburg Zoo has teamed up with Johannesburg City Parks in order to renovate the Zoo Hospital and the run/walk is a fundraising event created specifically to help raise funds in order to buy medical equipment for the hospital. It’s a great way to help the animals in need and spend time with the family – while breaking a sweat!
